EcoBuggys - Golf Buggy Licencing Opportunity in Scotland
From speaking to many golf professionals and clubs, the feedback we have received is that many clubs either do not have golf buggies or have too few, with maintenance and insurance proving to be the main issue, especially with petrol driven buggies.
Many of the professionals we have spoken to see single seated buggies as the future as they:
- Cause less damage and wear/tear to golf courses
- Can be provided at a lower cost to golfers
- Are much more ‘Eco’ friendly to the environment
Furthermore with our population ever increasing in age, the mobility market is booming and many golfers need a buggy to be able to keep playing golf.
Why EcoBuggies?
Four seated and two seated buggies are often too much hassle for golfers and golf professionals to bother with. A four seated buggy, in particular, can damage the turf and can extend the time taken on the course, due to the constant zigzagging across the golf course.
Our research and experience tells us that more and more golf clubs see single seat electric golf buggies as the future for a variety of reasons including:
- Cheaper insurance than petrol buggies
- Better for the environment
- Less wear and tear on the course
- Lower costs for the golfer
- Quicker round time on the course (fewer zigzags across the course than a 2 or 4 player buggy!)
- Lower operational running costs
What does it cost to have Sonic Golf Scotland's single seated golf buddies at my club?
In a word - nothing! We supply an agreed number of our single seat golf buggies to the course and provide all technical maintenance and batteries etc. In exchange, we jointly share the revenue with the golf club. The agreement runs for 12 months but does not involve any leasing agreements or upfront cost whatsoever to either the golf course or the professional.
Can every club have Eco Golf Buggies?
Not really. We have to test the buggy to ensure there are no health and safety implications on course and to estimate potential return on the capital investment. We are happy to pilot and test though with a single buggy if you would like to explore the benefit and potential demand at your course.
